Most people want both a laptop and a tablet, but having two usually doesn't make sense to them. Now, with the Lenovo Yoga 13, you can have both on one device! It looks like a laptop, but it has a 13.3" touchscreen and the device itself can stand it different positions so it can be used both as a laptop and a tablet. Here are the four modes the Lenovo Yoga 13 can be in:
Tent Mode
Stand Mode
Laptop Mode
Tablet Mode
Here is a video showing the four modes this laptop/tablet can be in. Check it out:
This laptop/tablet is very useful and have many features. It has 8GB of storage, which can store up to many documents. Also, the battery life is great. It can last up to 8 hours! My laptop can only be used for 2 hours. It includes Windows 8, which is the newest version of Windows software out there. For all these features, you can get this device for $999. You can buy it here:
Here is a video of a review of this device if you are more interested:
I think that this device is excellent for someone who needs a laptop, and a tablet as well. It has everything a tablet has to offer and everything a Windows 8 laptop has too. It's a 2 in 1 deal! As you saw in the video, this device can be used for almost any occasion and almost anywhere. It is convenient, stylish, and advanced in the technology of computers. One concern I have is the quality of the 360 degrees movable screen. Will it loosen over time? My mom bought a laptop long time ago and over time, the screen got loose, and now it moves so much that when you close the lip halfway, it just shuts completely. If this device will do this, then we won't enjoy all the features because part of the reason we want to buy it is because of the modes it can be in. If it loosens, it cannot be able to stand up in those positions anymore.
Also, if you make it stand up and it doesn't stand properly and fall screen-flat onto the table or the ground, the screen of the tablet will break. It might not be very stable when it is in tent or stand mode.
One inconvenience is that when it is in tablet mode, the keyboard is still on the back, so if you have it on your lap, or you slide it ontop of the table, the keyboard could get damaged.
We all think that in the future, everything will be more convenient because of our technology. This is the future we are all talking about. This device will make everything so much more convenient. For example, if you're on the bus or subway and you need to edit your work on the computer, you don't have to sit with a heavy laptop on your lap. Instead, you can use it as a light tablet of 3.4 lbs and you can even stand and use it! Laptops need something to hold it underneath like your lap or a table so it won't drop when you type.
Overall, this device is an excellent choice if you want something cool, stylish, and convenient to use. You can take it anywhere and use it anytime. This is how the future of our computers look like. The Lenovo Yoga 13 laptop and tablet.
It has occurred to me that almost every single tech talk blog post I have read indirectly emphasizes the need (cough cough want) to constantly maintain up to date bonds with our growing digital world. I wasn't too surprised since as any other person in this materialistic world, I have also been exposed to countless ads, commercials and people trying to convince me to buy the latest smartphone or tablet since it will make my life better. In the case of our tech talk blogs, although none of us are trying to sell an object, almost all of us are still stating how significant and critical tech is to our peace of mind and personal satisfaction. But what about all the other aspects of our life that bring us true pleasure such as getting together with family or friends, exercising, road trips, etc? The sad truth is, that many of us have forgotten these activities or simply just rarely partake in them. Of course, technology is an important aspect of our lives and just like everyone else, I also feel very excited when a new tech product releases. However, the thought that scares me is that will there ever come a time where the human civilization will have much weaker bonds with the human world than the digital world? What are your (entire class) thoughts about this and if so, what implications will this cause?
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion my brother and I would go outside and hang out with friends alooot more compared to now, due to technology and many excuses are that "we don't have time" which is not true because most of the time we are online with our friends and it would be alot better to be face- to- face with your friends then behind a screen. Hopefully later on in the future we still have human contact rather than social sites.
DeleteYes I totally agree with you Priya, but we are not here to negatively promote our technological devices to the audience, we want people to buy it, and be interested and want them to like it. It is very true in marketing (such as ads)they make a product sound so much better than they actually look and seem in real life. That's probably one major developing issue today. Some people make it sound just too good, but as a result, the product is nothing but a piece of nothing and absolutely worthless. :( Sadly, this is basically how our society works. I understand that it's probably getting a bit too repetitive to read about how we can "constantly maintain up to date bonds with the growing digital world." But who can you blame? The world is widely affected by this, and everyone likes to connect and be able to communicate using various methods. Unfortunately, I feel that technology will soon rule over the world and we will forget the basic enjoyments in life too. :'(
DeleteI appreciate your opinion Samia but I had absolutely no intention of "negatively promoting" my product. I merely wanted to spark a discussion on one major issue affecting technology which is also a key reason for me to engage in this blog.
DeleteIt is true. Ever since technology has connected us digitally, we have not been communicating properly face to face. You always see teenagers and young adults being so absorbed in their devices. Before, you had to talk to someone to get your message across or to tell them something, but now, all you have to do is send them a text or tweet. In the future, I think this problem will be even worse because technology will bring out even newer devices and social networking sites that everyone will be involved in social networking one way or another.
ReplyDeleteEvery single day, many types of new technology such as, Tablet, Ipad etc. are coming out and may people use them as a laptop, so do you think that the Lenovo Yoga 13 Convertible Laptop & Tablet or just any type of device will take over a simple laptop or PC?
ReplyDeleteI definitely have to agree with you on the fact that devices such as laptops and desktop PC's are slowly becoming outdated. In fact, they are being replaced at rapid rates by more mobile and portable devices such as smartphones and i-Pods. This trend will probably continue in the future with our coming tech obsessed generations wanting more and more aesthetic yet efficient tech devices, properties that are constantly being updated in most smartphone models. However, the Lenovo Yoga 13 Convertible Laptop and Tablet still sparks a promising future for the laptop and tablet market.
ReplyDeleteOh my god, this device is so sick, it's a laptop and tablet combined?! Awesome!! :D Maybe I should convince my mom to get me one.. :P
Deletei like ur blog well done grace #proud :) good job
ReplyDeleteDoes it still work as fast as a computer though? Or is it more "tablet-like"?
ReplyDeleteStrangely enough, I actually find that tablets have faster programming than computers
